Most growers love the seed sowing, the planning, the planting. But very few think right at the beginning about the pricing and the selling of their flowers. However there’s no point in putting in all the hard work to the growing if you’re not going to sell every stem.

Carol, Paula and I have worked very hard over the years to make sure that not only do we grow fantastic quality flowers, but that we sell them at a fair price that makes it possible for us to make a decent living out of our chosen career of flower farming.

These 3 courses are based on my retail background, my experience of 16 years of self employment, and the lessons I’ve learnt (sometime the hard way) during my years of Flower farming.

Introduction to Pricing

In this course, you’ll learn what market you’re selling to and how that will affect the prices you charge. You’ll look at how to find out comparison prices, who your worthy rivals are going to be, and you’ll learn about the value of your flowers.

Pricing for Profit

In this course you’ll look in detail at a lot of customer information and psychology related to pricing, you’ll work out all your costs and expenses in detail so that they won’t come as a surprise, and you’ll know if they are really necessary, or a bit of a luxury. You’ll then work through all the pricing questions you have to think about when selling different products - Bouquets, Buckets for wholesale and retail, Weddings and Market bouquets will be covered.

By the end of the course you’ll have a complete budget for the coming year, so you know who to target in your marketing.

Selling your flowers

In this course you’ll be taught the marketing and sales techniques to ensure that all your customers love you so much that you will sell every stem and have a waiting list. As well as giving lots of details about using Social media, email marketing and in person sales techniques, you’ll also learn about no cost and low cost marketing methods that you may have missed.

When you were investing in your flower farm, how much did you spend on your Seeds? your compost? your Polytunnel? How much time did you spend sowing seeds, pricking out, making beds?

Now you need to invest in your knowledge so that you can sell every single stem.
